It’s a great summer to be in Queens. There is just so much to do. You can dance with teen sensation Bombayo or the Brazilian ensemble (Nego Gato), attend free concerts by Ryan Leslie and Jon B at Springfield Park, enjoy the Independance Day party in Flushing or watch the popular play America Nos among others at Queens Theater in the Park. Fourth of July Birthday Party

Museum opens for tours noon to 5pm (special 2-for-1 admission for
guided house tours). In celebration of Louis Armstrong’s traditional
birthday (July 4th, 1900), the Museum always remains open for tours and
events.

Warm Up 2010 Kick-off
The summer Warm Up music series begins July 3 and will take place every
Saturday from 2-9PM through September 4. A schedule of performances will be
announced.

Nego Gato
The Nego Gato Afro-Brazilian Music and Dance Ensemble bring to their
audiences the rich African influenced rhythms and dances originating in El
Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, a region known for customs deeply rooted in the
traditions and spirituality of ancestral Africa.

Jazzmobile Returns!
In celebration of Louis Armstrong’s official birthday (August 4th, 1901) this
free, outdoor jazz concert and block party sponsored by Jazzmobile kicks off
every August in front of the Museum. Come hear world famous musicians as they
entertain neighbors and jazz fans. Bring your dancing shoes!
